The event takes place around the Ostwestfalenhalle Kaunitz.
If it rains, the barbecue will be hold inside the hall.
Who becomes champion 2008 ?
Come rain, come shine - It`s barbecue time.
Whether the weather be fine or whether the weather be not / We'll weather the weather whatever the weather / Whether we like it or not.
Starting August, 16 thru August, 17, the Kaunitzer Barbecue Championship takes place at the Ostwestfalenhalle in Kaunitz. More than 50 teams from germany and other european countries will fight for the title "Kaunitzer Barbecue Master 2008".
As in the years before, more than 100.000 visitors are expected, joining for a colorful program at the area behind the hall.
But mainly, it's all about the championship: The participants can win one of the titles in six categories and take one of the desired trophies with them back home. The teams are going to broil sausages and other meat pieces according to fixed guidelines. At the end, the results will be judged by an international competent jury.
Only teams with an allowance of class AIII or better may participate, but amateurs and hobbyist are welcome, also.
